BLOWN CABLE/FIBRE WORKS
PIONEERING AN ALTERNATIVE

ERHC are pioneering an innovative alternative to new cable/fibre infrastructure and are the first contractor to carry out this technique on the Road Network within Wales.

This innovative technique uses technological advances to deploy optical fibre, on demand, from one point of a network to another (internally or externally) using compressed air to blow optical fibre into pre-installed tubes. This unique system has gained worldwide recognition and will be used in various installations in the future.

Using specialist personnel we are able to provide our customers with a multi-disciplinary service. Our experienced and fully skilled workforce:

• Advise customers on the best solution to meet their individual needs;
• Build civil engineering infrastructure (direct bury, ducted systems & the installation of blowing tubes in slots cut into wearing course);
• Install duct, sub duct, blown fibre tubing;
• Blow fibre cable/fibre bundles into ducts/tubing;
• Splice and terminate blown fibre/cable systems; and
• Test and commission blown fibre/cable systems

We have successfully installed Blown Fibre Communications Cabling Infrastructure on some of Wales’ busiest Trunk Roads, including the A470, A4232, A40 and A48(M), for the Welsh Assembly Government.
